TREASURY
Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you start

Brief, clear, and without unnecessary jargon.

Basics

What is TREASURY?
TREASURY combines physical precious metals with its own digital technology platform. You can purchase gold, silver, platinum, and palladium starting from small amounts, track your personal holdings in real-time, build them automatically with AUTOPILOT, liquidate directly within your account, and take physical delivery of suitable products. Each settled customer holding is backed by physical metal: you are not buying a paper product or a token. TREASURY consolidates functions that are generally spread across multiple dealers, storage facilities, and processes in traditional precious metal purchases.
Which precious metals can I buy?
Depending on current product availability, gold, silver, platinum, and palladium may be offered.
What is the minimum amount I can start with?
The current entry is intended for small amounts, currently starting at $25 for eligible products. The minimum amount displayed in the Back Office is decisive.
Is my balance truly backed by physical assets?
Yes. After settlement, the amount of metal shown in your TREASURY account is backed on a 1:1 basis by physical precious metal within the professional storage structure. For example, if you purchase 10 grams of gold, a corresponding amount of physical gold is allocated to your customer holdings. Normal settlement and storage times may cause short-term timing differences.
Does 1:1 mean that a specific bar is in my name?
No, and that's where an important cost advantage lies. For small purchases, a separate 1-gram bar does not need to be produced, packaged, and stored each time. Instead, you economically own a clearly allocated amount of physical metal within a larger fungible bullion inventory. This means you still hold physical metal and not just a paper product, but you save on the typical premiums of many small bars.
Is TREASURY an ETF, fund, or security?
No. TREASURY is not an ETF, not a mutual fund, not a securities account, not a cryptocurrency, and not a digital token.
Are the purchases leveraged?
No. TREASURY does not offer leveraged, margin-financed, or credit-financed precious metal positions. Purchase transactions must be fully paid unless expressly indicated otherwise.

Storage and Security

Where are the precious metals stored?
Your precious metals are stored in an independent professional high-security facility in the USA. TREASURY intentionally does not operate its own vault. The storage is monitored 24/7, insured, and reconciled with TREASURY customer holdings through inventory reports and ongoing reconciliation.
Is the storage insured?
Yes. The physical precious metal holdings stored in TREASURY are kept within professional high-security storage with insurance coverage. The specific coverage is determined by the applicable storage and insurance terms and conditions.

Sale and Payout

Can I sell my precious metals at any time?
Yes. TREASURY was intentionally designed for particularly easy digital liquidation. After the 72-hour sale restriction period, simply select the desired amount of metal in your account, view the current buyback value, and confirm the sale without needing to find a dealer, ship metal, or wait for a manual review. The transaction is executed at the available buyback rate.
Why is the buyback value lower than the purchase price?
Purchase and sale prices may include different spreads, premiums, and costs. Additionally, market conditions, liquidity, type of metal, volume, and product form can affect the executable sale price.
Where does my money go after the sale?
After a successful sale and settlement, the proceeds will be credited to your Coindrop eWallet. From there, you can load the balance onto your Coindrop Visa card using the available features or transfer it to your bank account via bank transfer.

Physical takeover

Can I receive my metal physically?
Yes. For the designated products, physical acquisition is possible starting from 1 troy ounce. You can convert your holdings into an available physical unit and request delivery or vault pickup. Important: For silver, platinum, and palladium, value-added tax or import VAT and possibly other import duties may apply when physically importing or delivering to the EU.
From what quantity is a physical acquisition possible?
For the designated TREASURY products, physical acquisition is generally possible starting from 1 Troy Ounce. You can see which denominations and pickup or delivery options are currently available directly in your account.
What costs are associated with physical delivery?
Depending on the product and target area, conversion, handling, packaging, transport, transport insurance, vault or pickup fees, as well as taxes, customs, and import duties may apply.

Fractional Ownership and AUTOPILOT

What is Fractional Ownership?
Fractional Ownership at TREASURY means you can purchase a real physical amount of metal with a small amount, without needing to buy a full commercial bar or a whole ounce immediately. After settlement, the corresponding amount of metal is allocated to your personal account and physically backed 1:1. You economically own physical precious metal: not just paper, not an ETF, and not a token.
What is TREASURY AUTOPILOT?
With AUTOPILOT, you can set a recurring purchase amount and schedule. Future eligible purchases will be executed automatically at the current price. The instruction for future purchases can be terminated through the available account functions.
Does AUTOPILOT guarantee a better average price?
No, no one can guarantee a better average price. However, the great advantage of regular purchases is the cost-average effect: You spread your purchases across different market phases, thereby reducing the risk of investing the entire amount at an unfavorable time. Depending on the market trend, this may result in a more attractive average purchase price.

Prices and Costs

How is the TREASURY purchase price composed?
The price may take into account market and wholesale references, supplier prices, availability, premiums, spreads, procurement, logistics, custody, insurance, payment processing, operating costs, and margin. The decisive factor is the executable price displayed immediately before your confirmation.
What does TREASURY cost?
The current standard one-time activation fee is $599. For newly registered customers, the current launch model $199 within the first 72 hours and $299 up to 90 days after registration applies. Access may already be included with certain memberships. The price displayed at activation is decisive.
What are the costs for storage and insurance?
Without the corresponding benefit, the current fee is 0.1 % per month on the chargeable portfolio value. With active BAZE, up to $25,000 portfolio value is currently included. With LEGACY VIP, up to $100,000 portfolio value is included for 60 months. For amounts exceeding the respective included portfolio value, the fee may apply proportionally.
Do I have to purchase precious metals after activating TREASURY?
No. Activating does not obligate you to make a purchase. You decide if and when to place a metal order.

Taxes

Is gold VAT-free in Europe?
Investment gold is generally exempt from VAT in the EU under legal conditions. Whether a specific product meets the requirements depends on its product form and the legal criteria.
How are silver, platinum, and palladium treated for tax purposes?
As long as silver, platinum, or palladium remain in the professional US custody structure and are not physically imported into the EU, generally no EU import VAT arises from mere storage. Upon later physical import or delivery, VAT or import VAT and possibly other import duties may apply, depending on the country. The taxation of a later sales profit is not uniform in Europe and depends on the country of residence and, in some cases, the holding period.

Legal and Risk

Is there a right of withdrawal for precious metal orders?
For market price-dependent precious metal orders, the statutory right of withdrawal under European consumer law may be excluded because the price depends on financial market fluctuations that the provider cannot influence. Detailed consumer information will be provided to you before or during the use of TREASURY.
Is TREASURY an investment advisory service?
No. TREASURY provides product and educational information, but not personal investment, legal, or tax advice.
Can I lose money?
Yes, the market value of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium can rise or fall, and spreads, premiums, and costs can also affect your sales proceeds. The important distinction is between price loss and metal loss: a market movement does not automatically change your metal quantity. Your settled TREASURY metal quantity remains physically backed on a 1:1 basis. For example, if the gold price falls, you do not own fewer grams of gold, but simply a currently lower market value.
What happens if TREASURY or Coindrop no longer exists?
Your physical metal does not simply disappear if TREASURY or Coindrop were to cease operations. The holdings are intentionally kept with an independent professional third-party custodian and recorded in Coindrop's subledger on a customer-specific basis. Settled customer metals must not be treated as freely available proprietary inventory by Coindrop, pledged for its own loans, or lent to third parties. The structure is deliberately designed to operationally separate customer metals from the company's own inventory. However, the specific treatment in the event of insolvency is determined by the applicable law and the actual custody and ownership documents.
